getting out

Last week, I began taking the boys on more walks. I used to do this all the time when I had just two, but after having Leo, there was this transition period where I was either too tired (having to push two and carry one) or too concerned (letting little guys walk around traffic while pushing a stroller and/or carrying a baby). Now, however, Luca is pretty good at walking long distances. I feel like he was early on, then got tired of it, now is interested and willing again.

The other day I left the stroller in the car, which Joe had taken to work, and thought I'd see if Tizzy can walk on his own for a while. I was just going to go around the block because it was not looking promising, but we actually made it all the way to the playground. He was pretty tired coming home, but made it despite his icicle fingers hurting. Note to self: gloves!

Leo can't wait to be able to keep up with his brothers.

I have really started enjoying these post-nap, pre-dinner walks with my boys. Luca always finds a stick to hit and touch stuff with while he walks. He still gets tired going up hills, but really has impressed me. He just keeps going, though he may pause to inform me "this is hard", but he doesn't whine and it doesn't effect his decision to go on a walk the next day (or he doesn't remember).

We usually walk to the library, but have started branching out to a playground and, tonight, Gasworks. I hope to document these walks to remember how awesome (and adorable) my boys are, as well as, remind myself of this terrific city in which God has placed me.

As you can probably tell, I had a bit of fun with these pictures on picnik.

I am so thankful that I am healthy enough to do this with my wonderful boys.

Fun pictures!

I second that thankful thought: I am so thankful for the strength to do fun things with the kids or even just to be able to get the laundry done and meals made. SO thankful!!

And I really think that Josiah looks a little like that picture you have there of Luca.
