a tasty anniversary

To celebrate our ninth anniversary this year, we called on the folks to babysit all three little tykes and hit the town for the evening. We went to dinner at Djan's on 45th. We both love Thai food and Djan's did not disappoint.
Joe got the Spicy Ocean. (Note: very spicy, even for Joe, which is saying something. I guess when "Spicy" is in the title, it's already starting on a whole different spicy scale. Probably get 3 stars lower than what you normally get.)

I got the Phad Thai with Tempura Shrimp. (Note: the shrimp were not tempura, but were breaded more like tonkatsu. Still, very good and probably the best phad thai I've ever had. Great flavor, not too dry, plentiful size- thumbs up.)

I have a wonderful husband who thinks of me and wanted to make this a memorable occasion, so prior to our date, he decided we should each pick nine pictures over the span of our marriage and develop them, then put them in an album to talk about at dinner. It was a terrific idea... and it wasn't mine! Anyway, it was interesting to dwindle down our picks and see what spoke to us at this time in our lives.

After dinner, we got something warm to drink at Diablo coffee shop in Queen Anne. It totally reminded us of a place that should be in Humboldt.

The guy in the background of this picture is cracking me up. He must've sensed I was a blogger.

This was our best attempt at a self-taken picture of us with the Seattle skyline in the back. This is at Kerry Park, where the view is pretty fantastic.

We headed back to Wallingford for a cold treat- tiramisu gelato at Fainting Goat.

I am constantly thankful for Joe. Our nine years together have been amazing, difficult and sometimes amazingly difficult, but through it all, he has shown me love to the utmost. It's almost silly how he compliments me and says sweet things when he gets home, as I'm making dinner, as he's falling asleep... but I'm glad. He is a wonderful father, a man always attempting to grow closer to Christ Jesus. I am thankful for the man God has given me to lead our family. God is good.

I loved reading this Gigi! And way to go Joe on the super creative dinner talk idea--really, I've never heard of a husband doing that before! I am so glad to know you both!
