Tizzy is 2!

I have had this post "pending" for quite a while now. Tizzy turned two-years-old on June 12th. I decided I would do something low-key, which ended up having over 25 adults and children over for a bbq! We all learned some lessons with that day. For instance: anything with people in the double digits is not "low-key"; it's hard to prep for a party with a three-week-old baby; it's hard to combine being a host, taking care of a newborn and getting any decent pictures of your birthday boy; even if your birthday boy does superbly for his party, it still may be overload (read: he may wake every hour screaming during the night, all night); if you take the sibling of the birthday boy to get a present, don't do it on the day of the birthday (it's sad to start the day with tears), and on and on. Life lessons. Let's just say we have an intimate family trip planned for Luca's birthday.

Since I didn't get any decent pictures of Tiz on his actual birthday, I just decided to grab some other ones.

Tiz looooves his brother and wants to go wherever he goes. He's still a little afraid when they get rough or run around a lot and on occasion he will quickly run to my legs while I'm doing dishes or something only to have Luca blaze through soon after. Luca's not really chasing him, just running around, but I guess Tiz isn't going to take any chances. Luca looks after his little brother very well and will say things like, "Are you alright buddy?" when he trips or something. He's modeling big-brotherhood wonderfully and Tizzy has become more and more aware of Leo, attending to him when he cries and stopping to give him a kiss when he walks by. He is Luca's shadow and does whatever Luca does for the most part, so I am thankful Luca is sensitive to others.

Tizzy also adores his daddy and although he is not asking me about him throughout the day constantly anymore ("Mama, Go?" That's what he still calls Joe. Although, he will say dada when he's not really paying attention), he still runs to the door when Joe comes home.

Have I mentioned that Tiz is a soccer prodigy? Well, he is. He has been drop kicking for a few months now. He can do one touches, but main plants the ball, slowly backs up, building anticipation (really, he'll back up until he runs into something or you say "Ready, set, go!"). He used to do this thing where he put the ball on his head and let it roll down the front and then kick it. He can kind of dribble. We're working on his left foot. Most importantly, Joe has taught him and Luca the art of celebrating a goal. So, that's what he's really into now. He'll do something random inside like throw his sandal or shoe in the shoe bucket and turn and run yelling "Gooooooaaaaallllll!"

My little Tizzy. I love you so much. You bring fun and laughter to everything and you're so affectionate. We can't wait to see what the next year brings for you.
